We are currently in search of a Membership Assistant for an Association. The position is based in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent assignment.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Association

LOCATION: Washington, DC (Metro Center)

POSITION TITLE: Membership Assistant

DURATION: Temporary to Permanent

SCHEDULE: 35 hours/week

HOURLY PAY: $17.00 – $19.00

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Membership Assistant will serve as the organization’s receptionist as well as the first point of contact for all member inquiries. This person should have excellent customer service skills with a passion for serving others. This role will begin June 1st remotely and transition to full-time, in-office as of July 1st. For the right person, this could be a temporary to permanent opportunity with a salary between $45-$50k.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years of customer service experience required; preferably in an office-environment
  • Prior association experience highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent telephone and email etiquette
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Prior exposure to CRM/AMS systems a plus

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Serve as primary liaison with association members, handling day to day questions including the management of member information by phone, email, fax, etc.
  • Serve as front desk receptionist for the association, directing all incoming inquiries and ensuring customers are being served promptly and professionally
  • Research and resolve complaints to ensure member satisfaction
  • Process membership applications online and through the mail; updating database as required
  • Assist members with technical difficulties accessing member benefits
  • Provide activity reports on member contacts
  • Accept deliveries for the organization
  • Process and manage all in-office visitors
  • Travel to association events and conferences throughout the year, providing face to face member support
