We are currently in search of a Community Services Coordinator for a Social Services Organization   

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Social Services Organization

LOCATION: Chicago, IL (South Chicago)

POSITION TITLE: Community Services Coordinator  

DURATION: Temporary to Permanent

SCHEDULE: Full-Time

HOURLY PAY: $14.00 – $16.00/hour

ANNUAL PAY: $30,000 – $35,000/year

The Community Services Coordinator position was developed to respond to the growing need for affordable housing and services brought on by the crisis of foreclosing homes, expiring funding for affordable rental units and increasing rents, as well as the need for access to affordable food, financial literacy education and other positive family supports. This position reports directly to the Director of Programs. 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish, required
  • Experience in marketing, outreach and training
  • Be a multi-tasker, self-starter with strong time-management skills
  • Be accurate and organized
  • Able to work with diverse groups, particularly immigrant and refugee populations
  • Excellent writing and oral presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

How you will spend your day:

  • Work with Director of Programs and other key staff to establish, build and maintain key relationships within government, private and nonprofit sectors.
  • Collaborate with staff to create a cohesive integration of external programs within organizations overall organizational plan and structure.
  • Work with various stakeholders to attract and integrate new or improved services to the southeast side. This includes attending meetings in conjunction with work focusing on increasing housing option and services for Latino and other immigrant or at risk/vulnerable populations.
  • Help strengthen local food pantries by providing bilingual resources to help them secure more healthy food and services.
  • Facilitate the design, production and timely delivery of direct mail and other marketing (English and Spanish) for area households outlining available foreclosure prevention, financial assistance and other services available. This includes communicating with local media outlets.
  • Provide project management skills in a range of programs from real estate to social services. This may include but is not limited to the development of physical facilities and human services, and implementing recommendations resulting from planning efforts.
  • Coordinate and carry out logistics for meetings, events, and relevant activities. Represent the organization at community meetings, forums, and public events as required.
  • Assess the merits of exemplary programs in use elsewhere for adaptation to the organization’s community.
  • Supervising the staff within program structure.
  • Preparing reports, as required, for submission to funding partners.
