We are currently in search of a Nonprofit Development Assistant for a Social Services Organization. This position is based in Highland Park, IL.

POSITION TITLE: Nonprofit Development Assistant

DURATION: Temporary, ongoing

SCHEDULE: Part-time (20-25hrs/week)

HOURLY PAY: $14.00 – $17.00/hour

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Nonprofit Development Assistant reports to the Executive Director and supports all areas of donor stewardship including event support, project management, data entry, and donor acknowledgments. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work ASAP.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-3 years’ experience in fundraising and working with donor database CRM software
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Personal qualities of integrity, respect, and confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong database skills with high accuracy
  • Artistic skills and judgment, including good eye for graphic development and photo selection
  • Experience managing a direct-mail appeal
  • Special events production experience
  • Detail-oriented, with ability to manage a variety of tasks and projects while a flexible team player
  • Self-starter, who will work independently under minimal supervision and collaboratively in small-team environment valuing critical thinking and problem solving

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Assist with donor database, including generating gift acknowledgment letters, reports, and lists
  • Handle donor acknowledgement letters, list segmentation and letter merges, mail house interaction, and schedules
  • Assist Director of Development and Event Committee with planning and implementation of annual gala, including volunteer recruitment, solicitation of auction and raffle items, online and print invitations, event web site, e-blast updates, and online and print media publicity
  • Other project management duties as assigned
