We are currently in search of a Nonprofit Program Facilitator for a Youth Organization.

ORGANIZATION: Youth Organization 

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

POSITION TITLE: Nonprofit Program Facilitator

DURATION: Temporary, ongoing

SCHEDULE: Part-time (20 hours/week)

HOURLY PAY: $14.00 – $18.00/hour

 

Is This Your Dream Job?  The Nonprofit Program Facilitator reports to the Program Manager with facilitation of after-school programs, training, and enrichment activities. Facilitators will be responsible for conducting curriculum-based activities and discussions designed to increase knowledge, strengthen self-confidence, and cultivate communication and other pro-social skills. This is a great opportunity for someone who is currently unemployed and looking to start a new position ASAP.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience facilitating structured, curriculum-guided activities for teens with a variety of backgrounds and varying levels of emotional profiles and dispositions, living or attending school in under-resourced communities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Proven experience with Salesforce and MS Office Suite applications required
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Solid knowledge of adolescent developmental phases, have practiced positive and constructive approaches to youth development, and are familiar with best practices in social and emotional learning (SEL) programs
  • Value and have experience creating safe and brave spaces that promotes inclusion, belonging, and empathy
  • Experience developing and adapting objective-driven and curriculum-aligned lesson plans that creatively engage teens, while using outcome data to improve your inputs and implementation.
  • Experience working at and recruiting teen involvement in a school or similar environment
  • Excellent time manager with strong prioritization and organization skills.
  • Goal-driven, outcome-based and solution-oriented team player who can provide and receive constructive feedback, and who both promotes and practices a growth mindset
  • Capable of traveling within the city, using a personal vehicle with a valid driver’s license and insurance or other reliable forms of transportation.
  • Available to work semi-regular Saturday and evening hours, and are able to accompany large groups of teens on field trips, college visits, or other events.
  • Self-starter, fast-learner, and adaptable professional who works well independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills

How You Will Spend Your Day:

Effective School Relationships

  • Develop and maintain a positive presence and relationship with key school personnel, ensuring programming schedules are supported
  • Identify, create, and use communication outlets and tools that will bring awareness to organization’s program and engage teen participation
  • Secure space and time for recruitment, programming, and special events

Teen Recruitment and Engagement

  • Reach out to enrolled teens, individually, at least once a week and maintain regular contact with each participant’s parent/guardian
  • Coordinate teen transportation to sessions or special events and/or transport program
  • participants, as needed
  • Create a safe space for teens that allows them to build their confidence and create trusting and nurturing relationships with their peers

Program Delivery

  • Teach 2-3 after- school sessions per week, on site at partner schools
  • Develop engaging, teen-centric activities for each session that are aligned to organization’s curriculum guide and social and emotional learning framework
  • Attend weekly meetings and assist with planning spring conference
  • Achieve learning and growth objectives for teens through coaching, mentoring, and scaffolding

Mentor Engagement

  • Attend events as assigned
  • Support mentor orientation and placement/matching with teens for programs, conferences, and events
  • Participate in member event planning, to include teen attendance, teen participation, networking, and public speaking opportunities
