We are currently in search of a Senior Manager, Donor Information Systems for a Large Social Services Organization. The position is based in Downtown Chicago. This is a (temp/temp-to-perm, part-time) assignment.

SALARY: $22.00/hour – $27.00/hour 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Senior Manager of Donor Information Systems will serve as the primary manager and owner of organizational data housed in and shared between Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge, Luminate Online and Everyday Hero and is responsible for updating and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of the database. The Senior Manager will be the lead contact for data analytics, working with key staff across the organization. S/he will focus on system wide issues such as behind-the-scenes data audits, integration, monitoring, clean up, and maintenance, as well as administer user accounts and train system users on data entry and system capabilities. The Senior Manager of Donor Information Systems will regularly provide data for events, appeals and other activities through the creation of queries, exports and reports in support of the organization’s strategic plan to broaden awareness and increase revenue. 

Our Ideal Candidate: 

  • 5+ years experience in high-level Raiser’s Edge database administration: query-writing, data imports and exports, and report creation
  • 3+ years experience in high-level Luminate Online functions, including online donations, web presence, and e-marketing
  • Proven track record of accuracy, efficiency and dependability in data entry required
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience and strong desire and ability to create and improve processes
  • Strong organizational, analytical and planning skills with a high degree of detail, accuracy and follow-up
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to change in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Be self-directed and -motivated, work independently, as well as have the ability to work collaboratively
  • Good management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, presenting complex information and recommendations in simple, synthesized summaries
  • Maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information
  • Familiarity with accounting systems preferred
  • Crystal Reports experience preferred
  • Omatic software experience preferred 

How You Will Spend Your Day: 

  • Create analytical reports to support department goals and identify opportunities to use data efficiently to expand/enhance fundraising activities
  • Develop reporting capability of Raiser’s Edge to satisfy data needs of users including designing custom reports when necessary
  • Complete special Raiser’s Edge projects related to development functions
  • Provide direction, support, and training for the database/data entry team to ensure that all constituent data is integrated, accurate, and organized for the creation of effective reporting needed by all members of the department, as well as other staff who have access to the system
  • Generate customized queries, reports, lists for development activities
  • Lead Raiser’s Edge user groups with all Heartland Alliance staff, both current and prospective users, to promote continued development of system capabilities
  • Monitor system usage and maintain clear, consistent and thorough communication with users to protect data integrity and ensure compliance with usage policies and data entry standards
  • Evaluate and implement changes to data systems tables to promote uniform and consistent use of the system
  • Oversee data importing process through Omatic software
  • Perform regular database maintenance including running data management and quality reports, as well as rectifying issues
  • Collaborate with accounting staff to reconcile donor database with financials
  • Liaison between third-party vendors and Heartland Alliance IT Department for software implementation and upgrades, hardware changes, and other technical environment issue changes.
  • Working with IT, develop and maintain documentation on system usage and produce reports as identified and requested
  • Lead special data-driven development projects, as assigned
  • Supervise Donor Relations Coordinator whose primary job functions are database entry and gift processing, in addition to other donor related responsibilities.
  • Serve as a key member of the development staff team at Heartland Alliance events; occasional evening and weekend hours required for signature events
  • Maintain an appropriate professional demeanor toward co-workers, donors, volunteers, program participants, and others
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and attend trainings to continually improve knowledge and skills for the use of department databases and other relevant software to problem solve questions and issues that may arise from colleagues
