We are currently in search of a Nonprofit Database Administrator for a Social Services Organization. This position is based in Evanston, IL.

POSITION TITLE: Nonprofit Database Administrator

DURATION: Temporary, Full time (40 hours/week)

HOURLY PAY: $17.00-$22.00/hour

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Database Administrator upholds the critical role of maintaining the organization’s Raiser’s Edge donor database and tracking all revenue. Working closely with the VP Development, Donor Relations Manager and Special Events and Volunteer Coordinator – the Database Administrator is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the organization’s Raiser’s Edge database. This position will also be involved with the planning and development of the database as the donor database continues to grow, as well as troubleshooting issues on behalf of users. This is a great opportunity for someone who is currently unemployed and looking to start a new position ASAP.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3+ years professional experience working in analytical, research, or information specialist role utilizing Raiser’s Edge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, and a demonstrated ability to perform mail-merge functions
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Meets commitments and deadlines on a consistent and timely basis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior project management, planning and organizational skills.

  • Sound judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

 

Database Management (40%)

  • Act as Raiser’s Edge Database Administrator for organization
  • Manage Raiser’s Edge donor database, including maintenance, user accounts, global changes, reporting, queries, and data clean-up projects with the goal of providing current, consistent and accurate data at all times
  • Develop and deliver clear and accurate reporting and tracking vehicles to populate reports, dashboards and data extracts
  • Create and implement up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures for gift entry and reporting and ensure all entries conform to these procedures.
  • Produce all mailing lists from Raiser’s Edge database for mailings such as invitations, newsletters, and direct mail pieces

 

Gift Processing (20%)

  • Process, acknowledge, and document all donor gifts in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Create batches for gift entry and post to the general ledger. Manage gift adjustments when necessary
  • Create, produce, document, and distribute letters acknowledging donors and those being honored

 

Event Support (20%)

  • Process all event sponsorship and ticket revenue for events
  • Provide day-of assistance for donor events

 

Revenue Reconciliation (20%)

  • Process and track all departments pledges and invoices
  • Reconcile and close monthly development financials on time
  • Produce mailing lists, pledge reminders, and donor invoices on a timely basis. Prepare data merges
  • Develop, run and review timely donor reporting audits to ensure accurate gift entry and acknowledgment
  • Manage credit card gift processing and document steps, including any changes in the organization’s credit card processing
