We are currently in search of a Grant Writer for a Youth Focused Organization. The position is based in Oakland, CA. This is a Temp assignment.

POSITION TITLE: Grant Writer
DURATION: Temp
SALARY: $20.00-23.00/hr
HOURS: 8 Hours/3 Days a Week – Flexible

Is This Your Dream Job? As the Grant Writer at this organization, you will support the mission by assisting the development department in building out their fundraising platform. You come from a Journalism background and take pride in your strong writing and editing skills. You have a passion for children’s education and health policy, especially where it pertains to underserved Bay Area populations.

Our Ideal Candidate:
• 3-5 years of Journalism experience
• BA Degree preferred, especially in Journalism or Public Policy
• Strong capabilities to build relationships quickly
• Passion for fast paced environments
• Database maintenance experience preferred
• Positive attitude and a great sense of humor required

How You Will Spend Your Day:
• Assist organization Executives with grant research, funder and proposal processes
• Provide development support through studying foundation reports, email communications, appeals and research communications
• Complete prospect funder research
• Support other departments and duties as needed
