We are currently in search of a Nonprofit Office Manager for a Religious Organization. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Downtown Chicago, IL.

SALARY: $50,000 – $60,000

The Office Manager Reports to the Director of Human Resources and leads administrative support for organizational initiatives. This individual will be responsible for keeping the office running smoothly and overseeing general operations of the office. This person will need to be able to manage confidential information, work on special projects, write and communicate in a professional manner. The Organization is seeking an individual with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously. 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years’ experience as an office manager or in an administrative capacity.
  • Previous experience working in real estate development field a plus.
  • High School Diploma required, additional education (Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, etc.) a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with databases and ability to learn organization-specific databases.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
  • Strong overall knowledge of standard office equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and pivot quickly between tasks.
  • Detail-oriented, personable, and exercises good judgment.
  • Can serve as a trusted source with capability to transmit information clearly and honestly.
  • Independent and resourceful thinker with ability to speak for the Treasurer.

How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Assist with organizational time management and assist with strategic and tactical projects for the Treasurer.
  • Takes the lead on strategic initiatives important to the Organization’s culture and success.
  • Maintain an office setup and environment that optimizes efficiency and smooth workflow
  • Oversee general office operation.
  • Maintain phone system; keep recorded telephone messages consistent.
  • Maintain mail and passwords for the organization.
  • Responsible for bank reconciliations.
  • Manage meeting room schedule.
  • Process payroll and manage personnel handbook.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Responsible for holiday and vacation scheduling.
  • Maintain documents in Paycor system (HRIS).
  • Maintain staff directory.
  • Assist Director of Human Resources with other tasks as assigned.
  • Help resolve and troubleshoot various issues as the need arises.
